  3. phenomenology after Edmund Husserl. He
  4. attempted to move beyond the notion of a pure
  5. experiencing consciousness, arguing in The
  6. Phenomenology of Perception 1945 that
  7. perception is intertwined with bodily
  8. awareness and with language. In his
  9. posthumously published work The Visible and
  10. the Invisible 1964, he argued that our
  11. experience is inherently ambiguous and
  12. elusive and that the traditional concepts of
  13. philosophy are therefore inadequate to grasp
  14. it.
